hey
we just got these new gigabyte motherboard and they have been fine up until now when we got seagate barracuda 80gb 7200rpm 8mbc hdd’s in sata and they are connected correctly but wont show when we turn the computer on, but when we push reset it works everytime otherwise it just sits at the bios and waits then says nothing found or boot disk failer
BIOS is setup correctly
sata enabled
for IDE
choice of RAID and IDE
but IDE selected
managed to install windows and everything then reset install drivers everything its not until you shutdown thats when you turn it back on it cant find a hard disk if i push reset beautiful no probs
how do i get around this
i checked gigabytes website for bios updates
the positives and negitive and all are correct on the mainboard for the case
the power supply is 450w
its a Gigabyte GA-8VM800PMD-775
i am very confused and dont know whether to send them back for warranty (RA) or whether i got faulty hdd’s that just drop every now and then
or faulty motherboards but i dont think its that works ok with IDE and SATA too IDE can shutdown and turn on loads no probs but sata have to turn on and reset to load.
otherwise just sits there and does nothing says no hard drive even bios doesnt pick it up till i reset and then it loads works everytime.
there must be a glich somewhere its done it with 4 systems i have built now
im confused
please help
warming regards
walter
