Computer won’t go on standby

When I try to go on standby, I get a message that there is a device driver that won’t allow it. I ran the pmtshoot program on the Win 98 CD but I don’t understand how to fix the problem. The results won’t fit here, but if anyone can help me I can e-mail them to you.
