To start with, I am a newbie in tech.
We have staff who would be going out (mobile warriors) and want to connect to the office network (a usual scenario). So I decided to setup a w2k ras server instead of calling in consultants (budget is tight these days).
Remobilized a workstation, installed frash win2k server and setup the ras service. we have an NT domain. setup the ras to take the mobile warriors (WR) to the main office domain. setup static route (hope i was doing the right thing).
Okay, when testing, i could connect to the network (verified username and password-i have granted dialing in priviledge on the PDC to the test user-me of course!) but could not launch apps like outlook, internet explorer and all the business apps on the network.
what am i doing wrong. i need a ras for dummy. step by step approach. the windows help with the ras is as confusing (to me) as greek.
