confused, did something wrong i think

so yah my cousin’s computer was all messed up and well i tried to clean it out for him but it was beyond any help that i could offer so i thought that the xp disk that i had would have worked on it and well it seemed to work at the begining it formatted the hard drive then when it came to installing xp on it it would get up to copying of the files and yah would just freeze, now i have a blank hard drive and none of the disks that i have woudl work on it. two are copied disks from friends os’s and then the third is from a computer company called MDG. if there is any feedback that i could get on this it would be very much appreciated. thnx in advance.
