connecting win 2003 with xp client

I just installed windows 2003 server and, DNS , Active Directory , DHCP are all activated .
The server is connected to the internet…
What are the steps to follow to connect a win xp client to this Server 2003 .
The xp client can ping the sever but the server can’t .
Please help.
