connecting XP clients to NT4 server

Initial domain user account created on client ok but cannot create subsequent domain user accounts (or preferably group). message “trust relationship failed” and yet client is a member of the domain. need to have multiple users using the clients (these are for student use). the PDC also keeps locking out the administrator account. please help!!
