I have a system running Windows Workstation NT 4.0 where I cannot access the Control Panel. A dialog box pops up complaining that “windows encountered an error while trying to access control panel”. I have seen this before on another system and was never able to recover without a reinstallation. If you know of a way to access control panel, please let me know. Failing that, I know I can access nearly all of the control panel functions by executing the ppropriate “.cpl” file. My problem is that I need to access the Services module where services are started and stopped, and I cannot find a way to access Services (can’t find a services “.cpl” file). If you at least know of a way to access Services without Control Panel, that would solve my problem.
