I was up late last night googling for a tool that could remotely reboot a computer into safe mode from across the network and then let me remote control it. It was actually harder to find than I thought!
I eventually landed on a blog at http://andyspace.me.uk/node/246 and gave VNCScan a try. Was I ever delighted! This is the best tool that I’ve seen some out in a long time.
I was thrown off because the name implied that it was just something for VNC (http://www.realvnc.com) and I’m not running VNC except for a couple workstations but it turns out to have a ton more things in it such as remote process management and remote scripting.
It’s really a good combination of a lot of network tools into one easy to use console. I’m still playing with some of the endless features but I thought I’d give them a plug since they saved my a$$. =D
