Copying Local user profiles

Does anyone know a sure fire way of correctly copying a local user profile on a Win2k Professional to a Domain user profile? Iv’e tried the “Copy user Profile” command and the explorer copy folders(Hidden folders also) technique. Something always seems to be missing. Any help will be truly appreciated.
When the user logs in now they log into their own domain as Admins, and we want to change that to log into our corporate domain, but still keep their profile intact.
