corrupt files

Display boxes in netscape indicate files are corrupt such as netscape.exe, mpfservice.exe, winlogon.exe to name a few. I cannot locate the source of the problem. I am using netscape 7.2 and windows XP Pro.
Even tho Netscape.exe is said to be corrupt I can load Netscape and browse.
