Corrupted midia files x Magic Folder x Recover/Deletion

Jpeg, wmv, avi corrupt files
Hello,

I have a Maxtor 250 gb hdd, which is giving me a hard time.

About 10% of all midia data on it is corrupted.

So when I try to move this data to a another HDD, it takes forever because corrupt files stall the process, and minutes go by until I get the message “file 123.jpg can not be moved due to crc error”, or sometimes just the message “system can not copy the file”

Then I move on to the next file and the moving continues.

Sometimes I move over 200 file at once, sometimes I can not move more than 10 at once.

Is there a program that I can use to scan the entire partition where this data is, and then it will delete, or recover the corrupted files, so I can move them all at once and trash this hdd for good?

I have tried XP chkdsk, norton disk doctor 2005, and none solved the problem.

Another curiosity I have about this is;

all data, more than 120gb, in the hdd was moved crystal clear, the data that is giving me trouble was in a folder protected by Magic Folder.

Can I blame it on Magic Folder then?

Thanks a lot,

Marcelo.
