The Microsoft Exchange User Manager Extension allows Administrators to create an NT User ID and Exchange 5.5 mailbox at the same time.
When the new NT User ID is added, the Exchange Admin mailbox properties windows appears for the new User ID with the Alias and Display name already filled in.
However, when I use this method, the Auto Naming configuration (Tools->Options->Auto Naming tab in Exchange Admin) is not retained.
We have the following configuration for Auto Naming which works justfine when the mailbox is created directly from Exchange Admin:
Display Name: %Last, %First %Initials [WPC/PIT]
Alias Name: %6Last%1First%Initials
When the new mailbox is created from User Manager, the display name and alias name default to whatever was entered in the User Manager user properties windows.
Does anyone know of a trick to retain Auto Naming rules when Exchange Admin is called from User Manager?
Thanks.
