Creative 32X CD-ROM problem

I am using a crative 32x cdrom dirve. It reads the branded CD’s only and not the CD which are wirtten with the help of CD-Writer.
i.e. If I place my computers motherborard driver CD it reads , but when I put A Data CD or some Software CD which is wirtten with the help of CD-writer e.g. LG or Samsung it does not reads it !
What is the problem? what should be done to solve this problem. How to repair CD-ROM for this problem?
