Cryptic BSD error message…

While attempting to access the Startup and Recovery settings for the system properties for my PC (dualboot Win98/2KServer) a blue screen of death appeared stating: “IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Address 8042d8f5 base at 80400000, DataStamp 3d366b8b – ntoskrnl.exe”. Upon rebooting the system everything seems to be working fine with the execption of the data that was lost when the system crashed. I haven’t installed anything recently except for “updated” drivers for a USB mouse/keyboard about a month ago. The drivers were immediately removed because they caused the system to crash during bootup. How do I read (understand) this new error message in order to resolve it?
