Cryptographic Help@

I try to download windows updates, and I get a error message that says, the integrity needs verified, and I need to switch on my CRYPTOGRAPHIC service. I do not know how to do that. I am running windows xp on a HP Pavillion 963,Home Edition. I need to download windows xp Service pack 1. I am greatful for and help on this matter.
