Data transfer between 2 Remote PC (2 KM

I want to transfer some data daily once or twice from 1 pc to another(fixed). I’ve modem (dialup) connected in both of them. The o/s is windows95/98 and the programming tool is VB 6.0. No ISP facility is available.
Could you tell me a solution for this? Can I use access the remote pc as if it is in the LAN? Kindly send a reply
