ddhelpwndclass error

When a clients computer shuts down it usually gives the ‘task not responding’ message and quite often specifies the task as being DDHelpWndclass. The computer is a P3 866 running Windows ME and DirectX 8.0. Anyone have an idea what this is and howI fix it, as it appears to affect the video capture software as well.
