dead power panel

This is a COMPAQ ARMADA M300 laptop, the power settings were working fine a few days back but it suddenly becomes this….ALL the conrols are disabled, now my computer is sucking down battery FAST because of the absense of these features, a look in “Device Manager” revealed no non-working devices, and “add new devices” came up with nothing. System restore has been tried WITHOUT luck, PLEASEEEEEE somebody HELP!!!!!!
