Default F-Keys – How Do I Disable Them?

by the bassman . Updated 25 years, 6 months ago

Greetings,

I am working on a team that is designing a training program in Flash. The subject application is running on an AS400 and thus many of the features of the application are access via the “F” keys. The problem arises that on PC’s running Windows, anytime the F1 key is pressed “help” is accessed for the active app. Therefore, currently as the trainee is going along through this Flash trainer and it comes time for them to press the F1 key to accomplish some task or another, IE help is access along with the next screen in Flash.

My question is this: How can I disable the default functions assigned in Windows to the F1-F12 keys (especially the F1 key)? Is it in the Registry (please God no)? The OSes in question are Win95, Win98 &Win2000.
