default password in w2k

by netbroker . Updated 25 years, 2 months ago

Somehow after installing Office97 suite and upgrading to Outlook 98, I rebooted my machine and could not login with the default user ID and password. vey odd, it said my domain did not exist anymore? I am a cable modem user(residential) and PC Identification is not my domain. but the error said “login not available now, domain xxxxx is missing”. I have never seen this, and I cannot login to the PC, as the default is the administrator password on w2K pro.
is there a way to get windows to boot without the password and fix, uninstall Outlook or reinsert the proper domain, recofigure protocals?
something with Outlook 98 stripped it.
any ideas would be appreciated, that may troubleshoot.
This has never occurreed with win9x
and win2k pro has been stable up to today.
thanks.
