Default Settings for HP670C printer

I have hp670c deskjet printer. OS I work on is win-xp. While i fire print from my pc, the default properties of printer is “Normal” and “Print in Colour”. Even if i print plain black text from word file, the output is too slow and black colour printed with combining colours. This seems to be a bug in printer driver shipped alongwith XP. Let me know how to set default property of printer to “Draft” mode and print option “Black & White”. As with manual selection of these options, printing works ok.
