delay in printing in Windows XP

I have change to a new PC running XP Professional SP2. When I send a report for printing I have to wait for 5 mins or more for the printer to print. Previously when I was using Win98, the printer print immediately. I’m using a Seikosha BP9000 printer connected to a Intel printer switch.
