Delayed Write Failed

When logging into Windows 2000 Pro. This error window pops up. “Windows was unable to save all the data for the file \Device\HarddiskVolume1\Documents and Settings\Administrator\ntuser.dat.LOG. The data has been lost. This error may be cause by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection. Please try to save this file elsewhere.” With this none of my settings will hold they all revert back to the day this window started appearing. Can someone PLEASE help. I have changed my harddrive and reloaded all drivers and programs and this window error now shows up on the new harddrive. Reformated old harddrive and it works fine.
