Delete printer icon

I just added a printer to a user’s workstation (running W2K) and noticed an unused printer icon from when another (network) printer was connected to the pc some time ago. I tried to delete the icon, but was not allowed because ‘the device was no longer connected’. Is there another way to delete the icon?
