deleting favorites and documents

I don’t remember how I did it before, but I removed the recently opened documents, and the favorite list from the taskbar.

I’ve tried the taskbar options, but neither of those are listed.

I find these to be annoying, and usless, and I hate having to clear the documents area all the time.
