Deleting Icon in Windows. hehe

by qhcomputingny . Updated 24 years, 11 months ago

I know the topic sounded really simple to do and it may still be, but I have had the hardest time trying to get this icon off of my screen. I recently uninstalled Gateway Internet Service off of my computer and yet the icon still remains. I try and click on the icon, and of course it highlights it, but if I right click it and try to delete it it will not let me delete it. It does not give any kind of error message, it just closes that little (right-click) screen that pops up like nothing ever happened. I even tried to see if I could go into properties and change it from a read only file if that was the case and it still would not let me. There were no properties settings, and the file says that it is 0 bytes in length, which means it shouldn’t be there in the first place. I now feel stuck because as a tech I should be able to delete a damn icon. 🙂 Well if anyone can help me with this i would appreciate it. I don’t think I am forgetting anything.. Troubleshoot people. 🙂 —Eddie—-
