Dell Latitude CXP J

Hi,

I have a question. I have a basic knowledge of computers, but I just bought a second hand Latitude CPX J and did a fresh install of XP and how the Function button that is supposed to control all sorts of stuff, like volume, screen brightness, etc. pretty much does nothing. Is there a way to “turn it back on”? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
