Device Manager & CD Drive

I’ve noticed that the WinXP device manager has the incorrect “Location” for CD-RW drives. Some installations show Location 1(1) when the CD-RW is the master on the secondary IDE channel. Some installations show Location 0(0) when the CD-RW is the master on the secondary IDE channel.

Why is this and how can the Location be corrected?
