DHCP clients unable to browse

Setup brand new win2k server in test lab to replace production server. Setup DHCP and DNS on this server. Client machine in test can get proper dchp lease, but can’t browse to the internet. Thought it was problem with “.” root domain, which improved situation but did not solve it. Also, sometimes we have to disable, then reenable the client side nic on server to browse on server….. I’ve read some articles here with each… routing table has been checked, and we have placed static routes.. but no change as of yet… scenario..

Nic Card that connects to internet router:
3com 3c905
IP address 192.168.1.5 (from internet router static pool)
mask: 255.255.255.0
DFG: 192.168.1.1

Client NIC
Linksys LNE100TX
IP (Static) 10.0.0.1
mask: 255.0.0.0
DFG: none

Any help/advice/comments/suggestions would be appreciated!!!
