dial-up modem as a leased line modem

We want to establish connection between two NT or win2k machines using a simple copper wire and two modems. is it possible??

from some article we got the information that it is possible and we must make the modem into leased line mode. then how????

is their any other setting needed for this to work if so please give that also???
