Dial up Problem

Two computers are hooked to network cards. The main computer can not use the modem as a dial up to the internet. The other has no problem. Each time the main computer opens dialoge between the twocomputers, it is using the TCP/IP settings to talk tothe other computer. Is there a way for the Main computer to still use it’s own modem and still be in contact with the other computer.
