Difference between winNT, win2k, win XP

I wanted to know what is the difference between win2k winNT and winXP? If i do an MCSE now i will be certified in win2k. What i wanted to know is that does the launch of winXP make my certification obsolete in any way? And last but not the least what is the difference between the three OS’s? What is WIN-XP?
