DirectX 9.0b installation problems

I’ve tried for a few days now to get DirectX 9.0b to install but every time I try it gives me the message that that it hasn’t passed windows logo testing. I donwloaded it from the MS website and I updated my video card drivers but those didnt solve anything. Can someone please help me out?!?! I need DirectX 9.0 to play Halo.
