Directx Prob ???

I have EA sports Cricket World Cup 99 ….requires Direct X 6 ……..and i recently installed Directx 7.0 …………and now my game does not proceed after the intro of the game and i have to restart the pc ( use the RESET button ) !!!!!

plz help me how can i uninstall this direct x 7.x and reinstall direcx 6.0 !!???!??!?
