Disable shortcut for Firefox find?

When I’m using Firefox and typing messages in certain forums, etc., I accidentally activate the find feature. I believe it’s an apostrophe or slash that triggers it. It’s really annoying and I can’t make it stop! Is there a way to tweak Firefox shortcuts or simply deactivate that particular one?
