I know this is relatively overdone but a few months ago people were complaining (myself included)about the number of questions dumped into the Discussion forum.
Today I decided to look for something new to talk about other than the Iraq war. The first 20 discussions listed were ALL questions. EVERY SINGLE ONE! (with the exception of course of the Iraqi discussions which seem to always stay on top.)
Misuse of the forums is getting worse than ever!
Do these people not realize that posting a question puts more points in the posters pocket? It matters to some I’m sure, especially new visitors.
I think TR needs one of those big ugly FLASH intros to explain that there are different discussions and how to use the site.
I never found it too difficult to navigate, actually VERY well laid out. I don’t think there is TOO much fine print. Are people really dumb? Is the information on HOW to use TR in the wrong place and not easily found? Are these people just in too much of a hurry (maybe why they have these problems to begin with)? Are people just ignorant when it comes to understanding the guidelines?
I understand that not everyone will post in the right forum and sometimes this is due to just a simple oversight or misunderstanding of the structure. When EVERY discussion is a question, does this then let others think that this is the right forum?
I think straight up questions, once again, should be flagged and then deleted by TR staff as they are brought to their attention.
What a pain in the ass sifting through the piles of crap to find a relevant discussion, especially after sorting through the Q&A’s for a half hour or so and helping where you can!
