disk check not performed

whenever I’m running this command in my notebook(hp pavilion 4450 ) getting the problem

C:\>chkdsk /f
The type of the file system is NTFS.
Cannot lock current drive.

Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by
process. Would you like to schedule this volume
checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)

I answer y even start manualy but no effect again tried to run it getting same problem
