Disk Imaging with NT serevr & XP clients

I have a NT 4 server and win 98 clients.
I will upgrade my clients to XP.
After checking which pcs are compliant to the windows upgrade, is it possible to use the network to upgrade to windows XP or do I have to take a copy of the image and install it locally on each pc?
