Disk write error

I am stymied in my efforts to rid an continuing error: DISK WRITE ERROR: unable to write to disk. The system will not respond to “close Program.” Comes back after cold reboot, and Scandisk finds no surface disk errors, while only *sometimes* thereare file errors. Sometimes with user programs running, sometimes NOT.
