display adapter

I have a S3 Graphics ProSavage adapter-WINME OS. My display started acting strange at the same time I put a zip drive in (external). Went into Device Manager and seen the driver was a S3 driver. This is where the problems started. Went into control panel and opened up “Add New Hardware”-the entire screen filled with a ton of colors and froze. Looked like a kaleidoscope.Turned the pc off and rebooted. Same thing happened. Is it possible for a conflict to happen between the zip drive and the graphics card?
