Hello. I have DNS running on a NT server with service pack 4.0. Operations with the server are fine, however, on a regular basis I receive an error in event viewer stating the following:
DNS Server encountered a packet addressed to itself – IP address x.x.x.x. The DNS server should never be sending a packet to itself. This situation usually indicates a configuration error.
I looked this error up on the MS web site and have followed all of the things that they say could be causing these errors. Nothing has helped.(EX: Forwarders, secondary zones, notify lists, delegations of sub zones).
Any ideas would be more helpful than you will know. Thank you in advance.
