DNS issue

by eminent87 . Updated 24 years, 1 month ago

Hi,

We recently hosted our website through earthlink but for some reason our internal network can’t get to it. I know it has something to do with our dns server because when i try to ping the address to the website, it’ll reply. But if I try pinging the url (www.example.com) then it will come back as “unknown host name.” Now, this is only to our website, all other site it works just fine.

There’s another option that I can take, and this is changing all clients dns to the external dns that our isp provided us but then if I do this then all client would take forever to logon to the network because it will try to register our domain to the dns which it can’t find.

Can any help me with this because I don’t know much about dns. Is there a way to add the new site to our internal dns server so that it will update throughout our network?
