DNS on 2 NICS

by clint . Updated 24 years, 1 month ago

The Austin DNS server is on the 172.22.7.x network. That network should just be clients. We are trying to seperate the old Bank networks into Server and Client networks like we did with another part of our company. The difficult part is changing allof the DHCP scopes (local and remote) to reflect the DNS server IP Change.

Here is what I want to try. Install a 2nd nic into the DNS server on the new IP Address and change all of the DHCP scopes to point to the new one. Since lease times are 3days this would give me time to make sure everyone is over to it (including the servers) without having to do it cold turkey.

Will DNS answer on 2 different NICS? I hope it will…

ANy concerns? anyone ever try this?
