DNS Problem

Unable to install high speed cable internet access (RoadRunner) to my home pc (HP pavilion 6830). Instal’n tech claims DNS problem; current int. provider (MSN dialup) and HewlettPackard unsure of what this is or how to fix. RoadRunner will installas soon as I correct the problem but they say is for MSN or HP to resolve. Help!
