We were required recently to change all of our IP numbers for our machines and our hosted web sites when our upstream provider was changed. We are using NT 4.0 (sp5), IIS4.0 and for our DNS servers, we use BIND for NT version 4.9.5 —
We are getting an error in the system applications log which reads:
sysquery: findns error [3] on ns1.mydomain.com
The error has now migrated to all of our name servers as they update themselves from the PRIMARY.
Can anyone tell us what error #3 is.??, or where we can located a listing to tell us.??
Is it an NT error, or BIND..?? We have searched high and low in the all of the DB (dot) files, the PTR reverse lookups and even the NAMED.BOOT file, and can not find anything wrong.
When we dialin from an outside dialup account, we have no problem in accessing all of the web sites, but can not access them from the internal Intranet.
Any ideas guy’s..??
