I have a problem on a windows 2000 server running DNS with a dial up connection to the internet
The IP address of the dial up connection registers itself in dns next to the servers name
2000 clients then resolve the servers name to the ip address of teh dial up conenction as opposed to the lan connection.
It is the only server on the network and each time it conencts to the interent another record appears in the forward lookup zone.
Microsoft has a knowledge base article relating todynamic registration of dun conenctions but its suggestion of removing the tick from ddns registration in the network properties for the conenction didn’t solve the problem
Has anyone seen this problem of have an idea what has been done wrong when configuring dns to create this issue
