DNS set up

After indtalling DNS and going to DNS manager unable to open any fields to enter domain or zone information. Checked have host and domain listed, running tcp/ip and netbeui. Can ping, run netsat -r ip address listed. Any ideas? IP address shows up in DNS manager but when you go to server all fields blanked out. Help Please!! Thanks
