Domain and local profiles

When setting up NT machines for domain logging “At our Helpdesk” we lose the profile settings once the machine is delivered onsite even though its the same domain and user. Onsite we will create the profile again only to lose it when the user relogs. This happens only on various ocassions any insight would be appreciated.
