I have several pcs running Windows ME that are connecting to my network via wireless (Cisco 340 and 350 cards). Here is the problem that I am having:
When the pcs first boot, they present the typical Windows Logon screen (ie: User name & Password). After bypassing that screen (either by putting in the password or by canceling past it), the pcs will then display the Client for Microsoft Networks logon (ie: user name, password, and domain). Also, if a windows password is used (and happens tobe the same as the NT password) it will login to the domain automatically.
How can I remove the Windows logon screen completely and force only the NT logon?
I have tried deleting all the .pwl files, verified that profiles are not being used, and have logged in with a blank password (hoping to make it disappear). I have checked the registry entries to verify that autologon is not enabled. I have removed all networking components and reinstalled (several times!).
I know this is a smallinconvience, but it is “different” from the rest of the pcs and therefore is causing confusion. Not sure if this is because of Windows ME, but other pcs do not have this problem (w2k, xp-pro, and win98)
