Can someone point me to some good drive cloning software that will allow creating a clone image on a CD/DVD?
I’ve been working on a friend’s notebook and the included restore DVD completely wipes the drive, no matter how many partitions are on it. This is all well and good until he installs Linux on a separate partition and sets up a dual-boot system. If he ever has to restore the Windows partition he’ll have to start over from scratch on the Linux side as well, which doesn’t sound very appealing.
I’ve found plenty of software that allows cloning one hard drive or partition to another hard drive or partition, but nothing other than my copy of Norton Ghost (which won’t even work right on his notebook) that will allow cloning from hard drive to CD/DVD.
Please, if anyone has any suggestions, let me know. This problem is getting rather frustrating for me and for my friend.
